Letter - William Gorham Rice, Jr. to Parents Handwritten letter, 4 pages both sides, signed "William". Dated 12 August 1934. "Dear Mother & Father, Ottawa today? I have not heard from you since you left Albany. Today I lunched with Uncle Charlie. . . ." William is writing from Washington, D.C. where he is serving the the Roosevelt government. He seems to be employed by the Labor Board. "The chief excitement this week has been the Donovan case. The Board was asked to decide whether Donovan was dismissed by Gen. Johnson because of his union activity. . . " Includes brief description of life in Washington, D.C. William was Katharine McD. Rice's nephew. [Identify for possible Depression exhibit/program]
