Martha taught school for 17 years. As of 1905 Harold White (b. December 3rd, 1892) lived with them. The Humphrey's acquired the home from Martha's father, who built the house. He acquired the land from Luke Blair. According to Rev. Moody, near the house 'once stood a store which was built into the church.'
