Pease, Jr. (1927-2013) passed away peacefully on June 20, 2013 with his loving family by his side. Ken was born on April 7, 1927 the son of the late Kenneth and Ethel (Zarr) Pease. He grew up and spent most of his life in Worthington. He attended Huntington High School and Smith Vocational before joining the Army during World War II. He served with the occupational forces in Germany. He retired from the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority in 1989 after 31 years of employment. Ken was active in his church and community. He served one term as a selectman and thirty years as an Almoner for the Whiting Street Fund. He was a member of the Congregational Church, a lifetime member of both the Worthington Rod and Gun Club and VFW Post 6645 of Russell. He was a fifty year member of the Huntington Federal Masonic Hall Lodge. During his rich life he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping in southern Vermont, and traveling with his wife. He always claimed superiority in his daily games of cribbage but when pressed would have to acknowledge that it was his wife and not him who could brag about having a “29” hand. Above all he received pleasure in the company of family and friends. In recent years his life was enriched and probably prolonged by the love and antics of his great-grandchildren. Ken leaves his devoted wife of 66 years, Barbara Palmer Pease; a son, Gary and his wife Nan of Westfield; daughter, Gail Lucey and her husband Michael of Easthampton and daughter, Marcia Estelle and her husband Stephen of Worthington. He has three surviving brothers, Richard Pease and his wife Patricia of Tucson, AZ, Howard Pease and his wife Pamela of Westfield, Robert Pease and his wife Bonita of Russell. He has two surviving sisters, Nancy Wickland and husband Glen of Dalton and Mary McCready and her husband Peter of Huntington as well as a brother-in-law Donald Watson of Holyoke. He was predeceased by his brother, James Pease; his sister-in-law, Carol and sister, Nettie Watson. He leaves seven proud and admiring grandchildren, Mark Pease and his wife Marisa of Longmeadow, Rebecca Pease of Westfield, Kristen Pease of San Diego, CA, Stephen Estelle and his wife Kristen of Goshen, MA, Erin Borsari and her husband Joshua of Plymouth, David Lucey and his wife Carolina of Watertown and Thomas Lucey and his wife Kate of Chicago, IL. He has seven greatgrandchildren, Nicole, Mia, Michael, Ross, Rosemarie, Stephen and Arami. Admiration and love for Uncle Kenny extends to nieces, nephews and beyond.
