According to Bob Randall, there is extant today a cellar hole. He was given these papers when he moved into the Arthur Capen house on Capen Street.     <dcterms:description><![CDATA[History of &#039;Old Tavern Property&#039; owned by E. B. Bruce (1868-1894), Mrs. Henry Taylor (1890), Noah Pierce, Prudence Winslow (1888). &#039;After much contentious discussion the FSH Library was built on the spot at Worthington Four Corners where the Pierce Tavern once stood, but facing Huntington Road, not Buffingrton Hill Road. It is recorded in Papers on the History of Worthington that &#039;A part of Reverend Huntington&#039;s estate consisted of fourteen acres of land. . . that lay &#039;about half-way&#039; between the Center and The Corners. The trustees considered it best to sell this property and use the money toward the building to be built elsewhere. Five sites were offered. Unfortunately, two families, the Stones and the Rices, were overeager for the honor. There was als argument over which direction the building should face.&#039; . . . The library faces the Rice home on Huntington Road, not as the Tavern which faced Buffington Hill Road.&#039;]]></dcterms:description>

Worthington: there were no recorded crimes in 1800s and early 1900s. Helen Magargal and Lois Ashe Brown both comment on lack of crime today. Reverend Josiah Spaulding (1794) was described by James C. Rice in 1854 as being charged with immorality and deliquency of duty and was dismissed after tremendous town controversy. The charges were never sustained.]]></dcterms:description>

Epperly accompanies this file of records for the Veteran&#039;s Memorials in Worthington. &#039;Due to the significance of these records and the time incurred in preparing these lists, we would appreciate the records becoming part of the WHS archives for safe keeping. All funding on the laltest plaque was provided to the COA through the Rolland Fund.&#039; The committee to update the records comprised Barbara Pease, Barbara Shea and Millie Klouda who all worked for over a year to obtain names of veterans who were living in Worthington at the time of their departure to the military. The updated names have been included in the republished &#039;Papers on the History of Worthington,&#039; 2007. Includes WWI, WWI, Korean, Vietnam, Iraq.]]></dcterms:description>
