Rice, Worthington Mass. Dated August 12th, 1923. "Dear Miss Rice, I received the nice letter and the newspapers you sent me, and want to thank you for the same. The papers give an excellent account of the anniversary, and I read Professor Rice's address with much interest. I regret that I was not able to attend the services. . . The monument man, Smith, at Westfield, has put up a nice stone with proper inscription to the grave of Timothy Meech along side his first wife who had died several years previous to his death. In the papers I was quite interested in what Judge Brewster said at the services. Jonah Brewster was the executor of the estate of my grandfather Cyprian Meech. I suppose he was an ancestor of the Judge. I remember how my mother often spoke of the Rices, Brewsters, Starkweathers and others, so they were all living and prominent in her day when she left Worthington a hundred years ago. . . " ]]></dcterms:description>
