    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[This flag was designed to hang in the window of homes to show that some of its members were serving in the war. This shows that Ray Magargal was a private, given the one star on flag. The flag is painted on a tarp like material. It lost part of its gold fringe on the bottom after being displayed in Grand Opening Exhibit in 1999. It is Red White and Blue with yellow/gold fringe and hangs from a small turned end dowel from a delicate gold cord.]]></dcterms:description>

    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Hotel Register for The Hilltop Farm. May 18, 1921 November 17, 1939.  (Bessie Ames on Harvey Road - see &#039;40 Worthington Houses&#039; (2006a-010, Box 30b). Brown cloth book with embossed word &#039;Register&#039; on cover. A list of names of various guests very pertinent to the early 20th century in Worthington. On back cover, at bottom, is mistakenly stuck one one-half cent stamp, red with image of Benjamin Franklin.  Bessie Ames was the aunt of John Ames. She was a single woman. She came in early 1880s. At age 27 she rebuilt Hilltop after a fire. Ames family was large, from Rockport MA. John came with mail. John came in 1902, lived with her. Anna Jacobson was his first wife, from East Longmeadow. She had tuberculosis and came to take the fresh air. She married John in 1928 in Parsonage on Huntington Road. In 1932 John wanted to build a house for Anna with a lot of windows, twice as long as it is wide. The house is across the street, lived in now by Jason and Lynne Graves, gambrel roof. However, she died in 1933. Buried in Center Cemetery. Bessie died in June 23, 1956, buried in Center Cemetery. John then married Hilda who had 2 daughters.1944 sold to Barry. This information per Sean Reagan who is writing a history which see in the future.   ]]></dcterms:description>

    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Lafayette Lodge Folder. Four-fold. Proprietor stated as F.O. Wells, who also owned the Weldon Hotel in Greenfield. At one point, Guy Bartlett worked for him.  The Bartlett Hotel burned in late 1890s and was promptly rebuilt as the Worthington Inn (see 647I//#640) under proprietorship of A. W. Trow. Probably when Wells became proprietor, the name was changed  to The Lafayette Lodge.  Shows pictures of interior rooms and picture of the back showing casino as dining room.  &#039;There are plenty of places to eat, but only a few places to dine.  Dine at Lafayette Lodge and be convinced.&#039;  On reverse side, a chart of the three floors.    Also includes newspaper clippings reporting fire on Feb. 27, 1928 &#039;....stiff west wind...treatened to carry the fire through the entire village&#039;.  Damage estimated at $55,000 - insured for $30,000.&#039;]]></dcterms:description>
