Kubec is mentioned in Clement Burr&#039;s diary (1928): &quot;May 7: The select men took Wadie to the state poor house today. He got so dirty and his house was so filthy that someone made a complaint and he wanted to be taken care of.&quot;  Kubec is also reference in The Moody Book, p. 67: &#039;No. 15 -- Wadak Kubek was b. June 18, 1866, in Poland near the Russian line. His parents died when he was young. He came to this country in 1890. Bought of A. Dodge, of Fannie Hayden, of William Higgins, of John Cowing, of Arad Higgins, of Elkanah Ring, who built the house. The farm now contains thirty acres, keeping four head of cattle,  forty hens, one pig, and cuts three tons of hay.&#039;  Scanned and photocopied photograph only.
