Description
Three Conestoga bells unearthed by Peter Donatelli on properties on Sam Hill Road and West Street in Worthington Center. The larger bell is 3" wide at the base and 2 1/2" tall. The smaller bells are both 1 1/2" wide at the base and 1 1/4" tall. The type of metal for the two shiny bells is believed to be Tombac. The third bell may be a bronze alloy. These bells likely were hung from the necks of horses to signal their presence.
