Was in Edwin Smith Historical Museum, Westfield Athenaeum, Westfield, MA, until given to WHS. Color painting in oil of woman, hand resting on 'Dutchess Magazine, 1840.' Style is primitive; Artist is unknown. The subject of portrait is Mrs. John Bisbee. Label on back upper left frame: 'Mrs. John Bisbee, wife of Reverend John Bisbee of Worthington.' See Historical records in society records in WHS. Presented to WHS by Miss Mary Mason, 1942. (See attached letter). Condition: tear, lower left, mended on back; front surface cracked. On display in WHS.
