Elizabeth Payne typed draft of the Dedication to the Papers on the History of Worthington, describing its purpose, sources, and History of the WHS. According to Elodi McBride Elizabeth and Lois Ashe Brown disagreed about many of the stories that came from residents -- one wanted to edit and rewrite, the other wanted to include as is. In order to avoid the delay, Elizabeth pressed for early publication and, it is understood, paid for much of it herself.
