Newsprint - Booklet of Clippings re "Stories for All the Year" - Katharine McDowell Rice Pink silk-covered notebook with fruits (Chinese quality). Written in ink on front: STORIES FOR ALL THE YEAR, Clippings, etc. RICE MEMORIAL. Contains newspaper clippings, mostly from a clipping service related to Rice's "Stories for all the Year for Boys and Girls". Also reviews. Starts on April 9, 1895 with clipping from the Northampton Daily Herald. Most from spring and summer of 1895. Ends with one clipping from 1896. Also contains catalogue of "Frederick A. Stokes Company Xmasse Bookes, Kalendars/ Workes of Fiction, MDCCCXCV - MDCCCCXCVI." (1895-1896) that refers to Rice's book, "Stories for all the Year." Also included is Frederick A. Stokes Catalogue "Many Newe Thinges for Ye Lovers of Bookes" Anno domini MDCCXCV (1895) which refers to Katharine McDowell Rice's "Stories for all the Year" on page 11. Both catalogs are in the back of the scrapbook. N.B. Description of book: "A series of delightful stories. With twenty-five half-tone engravings after original designs by W. St. John Harper, many of them full-page. Most of these stories have appeared in 'St. Nicholas, Harper's Young People, 'and other well-known magazines."
