Description

Black and white photograph of front of newly-built Worthington Medical Center, as seen from the North. The building, built on Old North Road (Rt 143) was completed in 1965. Early landscaping visible as well as the "Medical Center" sign.
In the late 1960s, the organization changed its name to the Worthington Health Center; in the 1970s it was renamed the Hilltown Community Health Centers. The ā€œsā€ was dropped from the name in 2016

Florence Bates, one of the founders, wanted the sign to say "Health Center." The organization changed its name first to the Worthington Health Center and then to Hilltown Community Health Centers in the late 1970s.
