Description

Sepia postcard from sample book of Herbert Berniss Thrasher (1884-1927), photographer. Titled: 'Center Bridge' Worthington, Mass.' (#7120). Thrasher was the son of George M. and Hattie Lyman Thrasher. Guy Thrasher was his brother. The sample book was produced during the 1920s when H. B. Thrasher was living and working in Florida. The images are undated but are probably quite a bit earlier, ca. 1915 or so.

Also scan only of same postcard. Postally used. Published by Thrasher Post Card Co.,m Mt. Clemens, Mich. and Worthington, Mass. Postmarked South Worthington, Jul 26, 1910. Addressed to Mrs. S. W. Miles, Westfield, Mass. Message: 'I want Sam to make me a big letter 'J' about 2 in. wide. I want to embroider some stockings for the boys. Send it as soon as possible. Did two washings and am going to do two today. It was awful hot here yesterday. How is Dorothy? July 25 10. Libbeon' [Libbeon was Herbert Thrasher's sister] This card is currently in collection of Gary Roy.
