Two sepia postcards from sample book of Herbert Berniss Thrasher (1884-1927), photographer. One titled: 'Worthington, Mass.' (unnumbered). The other titled: 'In the heart of the dear old Berkshires, Worthington, Mass." (#95). Both show views of the Lafayette Inn front porch, ca. 1915. Worthington Corners.
Thrasher was the son of George M. and Hattie Lyman Thrasher. Guy Thrasher was his brother. The sample book was produced during the 1920s when H. B. Thrasher was living and working in Florida. The images are undated but are probably quite a bit earlier, ca. 1915 or so. Shows five women sitting on chairs on the front porch of Lafayette Lodge. The Lafayette Lodge (formerly the Worthington Inn) was located on Old Post Road. in Worthington Corners. It was destroyed in a fire in 1931. There is a small chip out of the top of the postcard.
