Brown and deteriorating postal card with pre-printed one cent stamp showing image of McKinley, 1843-1901
received in Hinsdale on January 27, 1906 from New York, January 26. Addressed to C. P. Hewitt, Worthington, Mass. from Gertrude.
Message reads: 'Dear Mother: Baby doing nicely. Nurse is fine. And I will write a postal every day as that is all the letter I have time to write. Nurse
has her all night so I am on duty ? hours during the day, and so am very busy as you can guess. Take good care
of yourself and don't worry. We have the best of everything for the baby so hope she will be [unreadable] all right. Gertrude.'
Written along side: 'Got the handkerchief and will write Abbie? for cousin [unreadable} address' More unreadable along other side.
